Used on my own sites
I describe what I used and what I learned from running my own sites on the host.
I compare web hosts for small businesses using provider research and what I’ve learned running my own websites. I explain who each plan suits, what it costs at renewal, and where its limits could affect your site.
I’ve run online businesses for over 20 years, including travel companies that rely on their websites for inquiries and bookings. That’s the perspective I bring to hosting. I look at what the plan costs after the introductory deal, what support is available when something goes wrong, and what’s involved if you need to move your site.
I start with the job you need the plan to do. A host that suits a first business website may make less sense for an established WordPress site that needs staging and help with a migration.

I use the provider’s pricing, documentation, and terms to check what the plan includes. I identify provider-reported results and independent tests when I cite them.
I check the upfront payment, the length of the commitment, and the renewal price for US plans. I look at usage limits, backup and restore options, and what support covers. I explain who the plan suits and where a limit or an extra fee could change the decision.
When I cite a performance test, I look for the plan, test location, workload, and test period. A provider’s uptime guarantee and a measured uptime result tell you different things, so I describe them separately.
